Annual Meeting 2019 Candidates

Please review the slate of board candidates that have been recognized by the nominations committee below:

Bill O’Brien – returning to BVHS Board as an active historian and storyteller. Bill has been involved with the history of Milwaukee through Marquette University and Historic Milwaukee for decades. He is very interested in the architecture of area buildings and currently writes articles for BVHS Historian which enrich our understanding of the ways properties were used and preserved. His extensive background and expertise are valuable to the vitality of Bay View Historical Society.

Bryce Richards – has years of experience as a creative producer in the Milwaukee area and throughout the country. He was very involved with the production of the 40th Anniversary documentary. He was re-energized to be active in Bay View after hearing historical society stories and after a recent move back to the neighborhood. Bryce is interested in taking photos to establish history and in developing programs that are relevant to members. His skills and expertise will be valuable for the Beulah Brinton House, communication with the public, and website.

Heather Taylor – currently serving on BVHS Board will continue in another term. She has been a vital planner and resource to the board for the Annual Dinner and as well as being very active with fundraising, support for archives and activities that are essential to the society’s future.

Russell Grabczyk – brings a lot of skills to the table with his previous experience as volunteer coordinator, talent chair and board member for the Bay View Neighborhood Association. Russ has been instrumental (pun not intended) in bringing a variety of new bands to the Chill on the Hill series at Humboldt Park. Russ also has experience in real estate, specifically property management through the ownership of several properties throughout the area. Landscaping & gardening, playing guitar for several bands and travelling are among Russ’ many hobbies. Russ is looking forward to applying these skills for the BVHS as a member of the board.
