1917 Milwaukee Police Bombing – Virtual Presentation

September 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The day before Thanksgiving in 1917, the worst mass killing of police officers in American history prior to 9/11 occurred. It happened at Milwaukee’s central police station from a bomb original left outside a Bay View church. This is a story involving foreign born terrorists, restrictions and detention of immigrants in controversial conditions, the rise of socialism, income inequality, car bombs, deaths in police custody, riots in Bay View and the rise of white supremacy, the conviction of innocent people and a man named Guiliani. It is the story of the 1917 Milwaukee Police Station Bombing, Milwaukee’s largest and oldest cold case. James Heinz is a retired police officer and historian.

This will be a virtual event hosted on Facebook Live. Use the event link below or go to the Bay View Historical Society Facebook page on the day of the event to access the lecture.
